5 myths about hiring an outdoor dog photographer

1

MY DOG WON’T STAY OR SIT

You love your dog just the way they are. Do they have training? Can they do basic commands? It’s ok if they’re a wild spirit. I love a challenge for these spontaneous types! I often find that the most natural and popular images are from unplanned moments.

2

dog photographers are pricey

Standard Vet Care per year is averaging $1500 to over $2000 CDN per year. Your dog is worth having reputable, trained and talented care. The same applies for really good dog photography. Hire a photographer that you can trust, that you’ll have a good experience with, and that knows dogs. Choose one who produces photos that you love and you’ll get just that! It's a well-thought out investment you will never regret.

3

professional photos won’t show my dog’s personality

A great dog photographer will have a pre-session consult. They’ll learn all about who your dog really is: temperament, likes, dislikes, and other important personality traits. They know how to bring that out and how to capture it in a photo session, because they have invested time and consideration before the photoshoot.

4

What if I don’t see anything I want to order?

Having spent the time to get to know you and your dog from the pre-session consult, I understand what you’re looking to achieve. Then I shoot 600-700 frames to make sure that I've captured exactly what you want to see. From that, it's more of a difficult choice for the client to select from the premium photos I will reveal - they want them all!

We have plenty of time to do this “one day”.

You may have several years together yet. Or you may not. If you're thinking you'd like gorgeous, forever images of your dog then now is a great time. There are no guarantees for any of us. Loved ones can disappear in a heartbeat - including your dog. Ask yourself how you would feel losing them and not having the best photo legacy when they’re gone.
